The AVP of Home Health at WVU Medicine is responsible for developing and executing strategic goals and plans for Home Health services, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
This role involves leading and directing practices and standards using metrics and the organization's vision.
The AVP oversees all home health services, collaborates with peers to enhance post-acute services, and maintains a strong image of home health operations.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1.
Bachelors' degree in clinical field
Experience:
1.
10 years of clinical experience and 7 years of direct leadership experience2.
3 years' experience in Home Health and/or Hospice.
3.
Experience with population health national trends and acute hospital case management processes4.
Knowledge of regulatory oversight including CMS and other accreditation bodies with surveys exceeding state and national travel trends.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

Master's degree in clinical field2.
Registered Nursing Certification or Diploma

Responsibilities:

Serves as a member of the WVUHS leadership team providing strategic direction on Home Health service related issues.
Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment in a matrix organization and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem-solving skills.
2.
Ensures Home Health services operate efficiently and effectively, while maximizing profitability and growth.
Ensures improved operational integration of home health services across the WVU Health System.
Advises on identified challenges that relate to the operation of post-acute and recommends appropriate action.
Recommends changes to administrative policies to achieve strategic objectives.
3.
Ensures each home health office is using a multi-disciplinary approach when providing patient care that assesses and identifies all patient needs and communicates that need to the designated Clinical Manager, primary nurse or clinician and/or the patient's physician.
4.
Identifies common opportunities for standardizing processes to achieve a consistent experience for all served.
Develops strategies to ensure premier patient satisfaction.
Leads development of standards to facilitate effective utilization of the electronic health record.
Assists leaders in administering, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Home Health services staff to achieve strategic objectives.
5.
Oversees Home Health service operations to ensure compliance with established system objectives and the delivery of optimal health care services.
Takes administrative calls as assigned, solving problems, and making appropriate policy interpretations to ensure quality care to patients.
6.
Monitors progress toward Home Health patient satisfaction goals and recommends and implements corrective actions as necessary.
Establishes and implements key quality metrics to evaluate the quality of patient care.
7.
Promotes team building and collaboration.
Motivates, encourages, and empowers staff to achieve personal, organizational and team goals.
Encourages and provides opportunity for staff input and feedback regarding improvement opportunities.
Recommends and implements changes as needed to comply with accrediting or performance standards.
8.
Reviews financial indicators and implements action and modifications when warranted.
Maintains clear expectations of accountability with direct reports.
9.
Communicates with managers to resolve various issues related to staffing, utilization of Home Health services and facilities, equipment and supplies, and interdepartmental processes and hand-offs.
10.
Maintains knowledge and achieves compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, licensure, accreditation requirements, record procedures and internal controls.
Regularly informs and updates staff on organizational and industry issues11.
Oversees strategic and business development planning within home health operations to ensure census growth and development of relationships within the community12.
Responsible for the implementation of professional and clinical services, and performance improvement programs at each home health location.
13.
Coordinates the provision of health care activities to ensure patient care is provided in accordance with regulatory, statutory, and legal standards.
Reviews pending legislation on local, state, and national levels for impact on health care; and when appropriate, enlists support to influence effective legislation.
14.
Regularly displays and encourages ethical behavior in the areas of business ethics, legal compliance, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, vendor relationships and the reporting of questionable activities.
Serves as a role model and mentor to operation leaders.
15.
Participates in ongoing continuous quality improvement education and training.
16.
Drives business development initiatives to expand service capabilities while continually enhancing operational efficiency and fiscal performance within the home health sector.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
